AHRA is committed to supporting inadequately served populations (ISPs) in Southeast Asia, including women, girls, minority ethnic groups, migrants, people living with HIV, sex workers, youth, adolescents, LGBTQ+ individuals, men who have sex with men, and people in prison. These groups face high rates of unsafe drug use, especially injecting drug use, which impacts public health. They also encounter significant barriers to accessing health services due to stigma, discrimination, and the criminalization of drug use.

Your support is crucial in helping us continue our vital work. By donating or purchasing our merchandise, you contribute directly to our programs that provide life-saving services, advocate for humane policies, and empower communities. Every donation and purchase help us reach more individuals, offer more training, and advocate more effectively for harm reduction policies.

The Southeast Asia Harm Reduction Association (AHRA) is a collaborative and transnational initiative dedicated to strengthening harm reduction service delivery capacity, national health strategies, and disease control plans in Southeast Asia. Our primary objective is to improve the health and quality of life of inadequately served people in the region. As a nonpolitical and nonreligious not-for-profit association, AHRA operates in accordance with humanitarian principles, including neutrality, impartiality, and operational independence.

At AHRA, we understand that addressing the needs of inadequately served populations requires a comprehensive and inclusive approach. We are particularly committed to supporting women, girls, and other inadequately served people, including those from minority ethnic groups, people living with HIV, sex workers, youth, adolescents, LGBTQ+ individuals, people in prison or other closed settings, and not only people who use drugs.

The context for inadequately served populations (ISPs) in Southeast Asia presents significant challenges and inadequacies in service provision. The region is characterized by high rates of drug use, particularly injecting drug use, with a significant impact on public health. Human rights for ISPs in Southeast Asia are often not adequately protected, with barriers to accessing HIV and other health services, including stigma, discrimination, and criminalization of drug use.

Promote Gender Equality: To address the specific needs and challenges faced by women who use drugs, sex workers, and marginalized youth.

Fight Stigma and Discrimination: To advocate for the rights of ISPs and create a more inclusive society.

Empower Communities: To provide capacity building and technical support to harm reduction groups, especially those led by inadequately served people.

Advance Policy Change: To serve as a harm reduction policy advocacy platform and work towards integrating harm reduction services into national health strategies.

Together, we can create a positive impact in the lives of those affected by drug use and other marginalized communities. Your generosity ensures that our life-saving services remain accessible and effective, advocating for the rights and health of our communities.
