World Mental Health Day 2024: Mental Health in the Workplace

October 10, 2024

Today, on World Mental Health Day, we join the global conversation about mental health, with this year’s theme being “Mental Health at Work.”

In light of the recent floods in northern Thailand, including the severe impact on Chiang Mai, it’s important to recognize that the aftermath of such events can weigh heavily on everyone’s mental health, including in the workplace. For many, especially those in harm reduction services, these pressures can feel overwhelming.

It’s vital for employers, where this concept is relatively new, to prioritize the mental well-being of their staff. Ensuring that your team feels supported can make a significant difference in their focus and resilience during challenging times.

If you’re feeling a flood of emotions, know that you’re not alone. It’s okay to talk about it. Sharing your feelings with others is one of the healthiest ways to release stress and cope.

Let’s look out for each other, both in our communities and in the workplace.
