April 8, 2025: Engaging Dialogue on Gender and Harm Reduction at AHRA Workshop
Yesterday, AHRA Secretariat, Pascal Tanguay, Shona Schonning, and Ruth Birgin from WHRIN came together for a key session focused on formulating gender objectives for AHRA’s technical assistance. The dialogue brought together experts to explore how AHRA can enhance its approach to harm reduction for women and girls, as well as LGBTI communities in Southeast Asia.
Key Highlights:
- Introduction and overview of AHRA and the Southeast Asia Harm Reduction Forum, led by Murdo Bijl, AHRA.
- Pascal provided insights into the planned technical assistance (TA) for AHRA and guided the group through the key objectives.
- We discussed the main challenges facing women and girls who use drugs in the region, with expert input from Shona and Ruth.
- The team explored how the forum might address these challenges and how technical assistance can support AHRA’s efforts moving forward.
