AHRA Hosts Learning Expert Training in Hanoi, Vietnam!

October 16, 2023

We are excited to announce that the Southeast Asia Harm Reduction Association (AHRA) recently hosted the “Learning Expert 1: Harm Reduction Knowledge and Learning” course from 9th to 13th October, 2023, in Hanoi, Vietnam. This training program was made possible with funding from GFATM and the expert support of the Mainline Foundation in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

Course Objectives:

🌟 Increase the capacity of our international partners and other harm reduction organizations to offer professional internal, external, and regional harm reduction and sensitization learning.

🌟 Boost sustained professional capacity of ground-level staff, including outreach workers and counselors, by equipping them with the necessary skills to provide learning opportunities to their colleagues and beyond.

Course Highlights:

Participants engaged in a dynamic and interactive learning experience, where the aspirant Learning Experts addresses all elements of the sustainable learning process, from exploring the learning needs of participants, learning through a range of learning products, to continuing building skills and awareness after learning. This empowered them to conduct workshops for their colleagues, both locally and internationally, with confidence and competence. The course emphasized a participatory approach, drawing on the knowledge and experience within the group.

Learning experts have the flexibility to choose the specific topics they wish to deliver, making this course adaptable to diverse needs.

We’re incredibly proud to contribute to the growth of harm reduction initiatives and the professional development of our dedicated partners and staff. Stay tuned for more updates on our ongoing efforts to create a safer and more informed community!
