Equity Card Report – Supporting Vulnerable Populations in Cambodia

June 14, 2024

By December 2023, KHANA and its implementing partners (CWPD and MHC) had made significant strides in supporting key populations in Cambodia, particularly those facing economic hardships. This initiative was instrumental in helping these populations access the equity card provided by the Cambodian government, which offers various social benefits. We facilitated the process by sharing information, recruiting, and conducting interviews.

Through our efforts, we referred a total of 2,338 key populations for registration (1,783 Female Entertainment Workers (FEW), 485 Men who have Sex with Men (MSM), and 70 Transgender individuals (TG)). Out of these, 1,008 were recruited for eligibility interviews (714 FEW, 239 MSM, and 55 TG). Ultimately, 500 individuals received the equity card (350 FEW, 120 MSM, and 30 TG). This initiative has provided much-needed support and resources to those in need, significantly improving their quality of life.
